The WPT at Marrackech came to an end
Three popular poker players made it to the final table
The World Poker Tour at Marrakech came to an end and it had an incredible ending, due to the three famous professional poker players who were at the final table. Arnaud Mattern was one of these players and this is the third time that he has made it to the final table in this event. Bertrand Grospellier, who has been in the WPT awards at least four times, was also one of the finalists in this event and Jonathan Duhamel, who is a salesman from the WSOP, was also in this final table.

Bertrand Grospellier could have had an amazing year if he had won this tournament, because last year he won himself a WSOP bracelet. This now famous poker player also managed to have an excellent place at the European Poker Tour in Madrid and this is why winning the event at Marrakech would have been amazing for him. This time, luck was not on his side and he was eliminated in eight place which is not that bad at all.
Jonathan Duhamel, who was champion of the WSOP in 2010, was eliminated in seventh position, when he tried to bluff Maksims Martinov who did not fall and kept all of his chips. Rodney Assous was the next player to be eliminated from this tournament, when his pair of jacks where not enough to defeat a better hand by Houssam. After this, Maksims Martinov went on a head up against Arnaud Mattern and he lost all of his chips too. He was eliminated in fifth place and the chip difference amongst the remaining players was not very high at all.
The poker hand where Martinov was eliminated by Ourini was one of the most interesting hands in the tournament. Martinov went all in with two pairs, but when Ourini called with only high cards and saw an exceptional flop, Martinov lost all his chips and left the tournament in third place. The final two players where, Mohamed Ali Houssam and Toufik Ourini, whose match promised to be very interesting and it really made the tournament have an incredible ending.
Ourini went all in with a high pair in the flop, but he did not expect that Houssam had three eights. This was the hand that gave Houssam the WPT Championship in his country and he was really excited to be the winner. He took a little bit over $250000, which is a very good sum of money and he also entered his name into the history of the World Poker Tour.
Assous, who left the tournament in sixth place, took home at least $40000 and this is also a very good prize for simply playing poker. The World Poker Tour is now one of the most popular leagues in the planet and it has become known that there are many good players there.
